Sealion L15 水中ビデオライト (10000 ルーメン/フラッドライト ダイビング ライト)

Review written after using this light for one week's worth of scuba diving, maybe 12 hours underwater. How bright is it? It is rated at 10,000 lumens, but other reviewers have questioned the validity of that rating. It's far too bright to look at it, so I tested it against my 5,000-lumen Big Blue scuba light by shining both of them on a wall, then taking pictures of the wall with an automatic camera. By comparing the data in the photos (shutter speed, f-stop, and ISO), I was able to determine that this light is at least 1.5 times as bright as the 5,000-lumen Big Blue. It might be 10,000 lumens as rated, but I don't have equipment to test that precisely. I'll guess that it's close. For me, it was too bright on full power, and I almost always used it on the second-from-brightest power setting. It came with 3 standard batteries, and those can be charged by opening the cap on the rear of the light and plugging a regular USB-C cord directly into the battery holder. Nice. I didn't need to bring a separate charger just for this light, as it shares a charger with cell phones. On the power setting I used, the batteries never died during dives that lasted about 70 minutes. It didn't leak. On my lights, I use lots of silicone grease on the o-rings, but silicone grease will make o-rings expand and become unusable, so it is important meticulously to clean all the grease off the o-rings after a dive trip, and store the o-rings dry until your next trip. Warning: Don't use a light this powerful for more than a few seconds out of water. It heats up quickly, and it depends on the water to keep itself cool. In all, I'm quite happy with this purchase.
